Information for Parents

Welcome current, former, and future Small Steps Families!


Open enrollment typically begins in January and closes at the end of February. During that time period, we welcome you to come by Small Steps to get to know us, ask questions, and pick up or return your application.

In order to attend Small Steps, your child must be between the ages of 2 and 5 years old as of September 1, 2018. Small Steps also requires the following of its students and their families:

  • The student must live in one of the following zip codes: 77003, 77007, 77008,  77009, 77019, 77020, and 77026.
  • The student’s family must qualify for the free portion of the National School Lunch Program. For more detailed information on qualifying for the free portion of the National School Lunch Program click here.
  • The student’s family must complete 10 tuition hours each school year by volunteering at the school, including a minimum of four parent education events.

ParentsWeb is a private and secure portal that will allow parents to view academic information specific to their children. You may view your child’s grades, attendance, homework and conduct, as well as other useful school information.

2019–2020 School Year Important Admissions Dates

Tuesday, January 22, 2019: Open enrollment period begins. Applications accepted for the 2018-2019 school year.
Monday, February 18, 2019: Open enrollment period ends.
Friday, March 22, 2019:  All applicants will be notified about the status of their applications.
