The Small Steps Clays Classic was started in 2003 to help fund the construction of Small Steps’ second school in the Fifth Ward. Building upon the momentum of the Energy Classic, the Clays Classic grew in its success and has become an annual draw for many prominent companies. This year, over 66 corporations, foundations, and individuals came together to sponsor the Clays Classic in support of Houston’s economically at-risk, inner-city children.

The tournament format, designed by Gil Ash, consisted of 100 targets at ten stations. Additionally, each participant had the opportunity to take advantage of a shooting lesson and was able to participate in shooting games throughout the day. Following the tournament, all participants were invited to the dinner and awards ceremony. A significant number of door prizes were awarded at the conclusion of dinner.
